What is GDPR?
The primary purpose of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) is to ensure companies only use your personal data for genuine and essential use and that, unless you have given them permission, they are not using it for marketing purposes. In line with the GDPR we do not automatically collect any personal information about users of this website. We only record the personal details you provide voluntarily via the ͚contact us͛ page on this website, via a telephone enquiry information request or via the appointment booking page. We also collate general information about the use of this website for statistical purposes via Google Analytics.

Website contact form: should you elect to us the 'contact us' form on this website we may collect the following information:
- Name
- Telephone number
- Email address
- Reason for enquiry
Upon submission of the enquiry form the information provided will be sent to us via email, however it will not be stored on a database. This information will be used solely respond to your enquiry, and the email will be deleted following such response.

Telephone enquiry: Should you provide your permission and elect to receive a link to this website during a telephone conversation with one of our customer services representatives, we may collect the following information:
- Name
- Number of weeks pregnant
- Telephone number
- Email address
Upon receipt of this information a link to this website will be provided in an email and the information obtained will be held on a secure database for the duration of you pregnancy. Should you wish to be removed from this data base you can opt out using the link provided at the bottom of the said email, or by calling our customer service team to request removal. The information obtained is solely for the use of First Encounters Ultrasound and not for distribution to a third party.

Appointment Booking: During the process of booking an Ultrasound appointment it is imperative we capture personal information for regulatory and medical purposes. Such information is compulsory for the provision of the services we provide. The information required is as follows:
- Full name
- Address
- Telephone number
- Email address
- Date of birth
- Number of weeks pregnant
- Maternity Hospital
The information captured will create a personal record on our secure management system, which will be held indefinitely for medical and regulatory reasons. Completion of a booking will result in an Appointment Confirmation email followed by up to two further appointment Reminder emails, and a thank you email. Dependent upon the chosen scan package you may also receive an email providing access to digital souvenir imagery after your scan has been performed, with such imagery held on a secure server protected by the unique password provided. A post scan follow-up email will provide an opt out link to enable you to deactivate your email address from any further marketing material, however you record will be archived on our secure database. Your information will not be shared with any third party.
Payment Card Processing
Card information entered online or requested over the telephone during the booking of an appointment is entered directly onto an independent secure payment gateway operated by Worldpay. The use of this gateway means we do not store any data in relation to any payment cardinformation provided.
Your Rights
Accessing your personal information.
- You have certain legal rights to control what we do with your information. This includes a right to get access to your personal information, which we would aim to supply within one month of request; to request us to correct or update incorrect information; to request the deletion of personal information held (albeit information required for compliance and medical purposes would be retained securely); to withdraw your permission to use your email address (only after the requested ultrasound scan has been performed), however we would still reserve the right to communicate using said email address in relation to medical and or compliance matters.
Security
We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure with us. All personal and sensitive information provided is held on a secure server in a professional secure data centre located in the UK. Your information will not be transferred overseas, and we will not pass your information to any third party. The company operates a data protection policy and has a designated Data Protection Officer to ensure compliance with the data we hold.
Google Analytics
Like many website owners we use Google Analytics to monitor the performance of our website. This tool does not collect any personally identifiable information, but if you would prefer not to be included in our Analytics data, you can
